Look: From LP to PDP: Gascon Gustong lumipat ng Partido para lang manatili sa CHR
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) commissioner Chito Gascon is willing to leave the Liberal Party (LP) and switch to PDP-Laban just to stay as CHR commissioner, his aide told reporters on Tuesday.
Atty. Maria Teresa Legaspi, one of CHR’s lawyers said Gascon is open to all options just to keep the office of the CHR afloat.
“Si Chairman naman open sa lahat ng options e. Kung kinakailangang magpalit ng partido, willing naman siya. Lahat gagawin niya para lang manatili ang opisina ng CHR”, Legaspi said.
Gascon, a former top official of the Liberal Party before former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III appointed him as chief of CHR, has been making headlines recently after lawmakers insulted his office.

President Rodrigo Duterte has been calling for the resignation of Gascon as the two do not agree on the President’s war on drugs.
The PDP-Laban headed by Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III did not give any comment whether his party is ready to accept Gascon if the latter decides to do so.
“I think that will be a very big question for everyone of us”, Pimentel said.
The Liberal party on the other hand kept silent on the issue. Gascon himself did not confirm his aide’s statement.
